About the role:

As a Manager - Technology to Market you will identify, evaluating, and translating latest technologies into strategic opportunities that align with Westinghouse's innovation and growth goals.

You will combine innovation leadership, strategic development oversight, creating both near-term growth and long-term disruptive positioning. The Technology to Market manager operates as a bridge between external innovation ecosystems and internal engineering, R&D, and teams.

 

You will report to the Director, Technology to Market and work remotely.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Technology Strategy & Innovation Leadership: contribute to a holistic technology scouting and innovation strategy aligned with corporate and team goals.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis: Monitor global technology trends, innovation ecosystems, and competitor activities. Deliver relevant insights on technology evolution, market dynamics, and strategic positioning. Combine intelligence into decision-ready outputs for leadership, including opportunity framing and risk assessment.
  • Technology Identification, Evaluation and Maturation: Identify and assess latest technologies, startups, academic research, and industry developments.
  • Partnerships, Transactions and Ecosystem Development: Build strategic relationships with external partners, including startups, universities, national labs, and technology accelerators.
  • Cross-Functional Execution & Delivery: Collaborate with strategic roadmaps team, engineering, R&D, digital, and teams to identify customer needs and technology gaps. Contribute in aligning internal capabilities ('technology bricks') with business opportunities. es.
  • Funding Strategy & Policy Agreement: Identify and deliver external funding opportunities (government and private) to accelerate technology maturation.
  • Financial, Commercial & Decision Support: Support business case development, including financial modeling and valuation inputs, and cost-benefit and Return on investment analysis. Contribute to investment decisions, including make-vs-buy, partnership, or acquisition pathways.
  • Executive Communication & Influence: Deliver clear, structured recommendations to leadership through memos, business opportunity assessments, technology watches and investment proposals.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a nuclear-related field (e.g., nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, physics, or related), with advanced degrees or research background
  • 5 + years of post-education experience in technology scouting, product development, innovation management, engineering, strategy, or technology commercialization in the energy or adjacent sectors.
  • Knowledge of latest technologies and applications of nuclear energy.

 

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $130,400 to $163,000 per year.
