Facilities and Maintenance Technician

Westinghouse LLC is currently looking for an Facilities and Maintenance Technician at the Catawba Nuclear Power Station, located in York SC. This is a local hire position and will not pay any reloaction fees or perdiem. In this position one will perform maintenance and repair of non-power block systems, structures, and components to support site operation. Perform maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment to support the site. Ensure maintenance and repair activities are performed in the most cost-effective and timely manner maintain a good working environment for site employees. Some examples of responsibilities include Industrial electrical maintenance, Temp power installation, potable water systems, sewer systems, non-power block systems structures and components, fire protection systems and equipment, maintenance and repair of site tools and equipment, eye wash stations, and site doors. Many of these positions have State Licenses/Certifications in their respective disciplines.
Responsibilities include:
Journeyman electrical tasks: Temp power installation, load calculations, cable installations
Low and medium voltage cable application
Strong understanding of various industrial electrical systems, including their components and operation
Experience in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues, including identifying and fixing faults in complex systems.
Ability to interpret and work with electrical blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
Perform material handling task with forklifts of various sizes and large equipment operation
Plumbing: All plumbing repairs or upgrades in kitchens, labs, restrooms, office areas
Sewer Systems: To include Sewage Ejectors, Lift Stations
Compressors: To include repair/replacement and PM’s
Eye Wash Units: Testing and PMs on Plant Eye Wash Stations
Shop/Lab Equipment: PM & Repairs to Shop/Lab equipment on site
Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on floors, walls, ceilings, doors,
windows, furniture, cabinets, shelves, tables, kitchen equipment, and minor roof repair.
Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on mechanical components
including but not limited to fire protection sprinkler systems, air lines, pumps, motors and
valves.
Basic Qualifications
F&E Tech II
5-10 years Industrial electrical experience
A strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures when working with electrical equipment.
Valid driver's license
Ability to operate forklift and large equipment in a safe and productive manner with 1 year of experience.
Experience using basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel,
Outlook/email, etc.)
High school graduate or GED equivalent or equivalent
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with customers, vendors, management and supporting
personnel
Experience performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on mechanical
components in an industrial or commercial application
Ability to have Nuclear Plant Access and Radiation worker clearance
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a safe and productive manor
Proficient in the use of manufactures manuals, drawings, and procedures
Work Schedule
40-hour work week-Monday-Thursday operating 10-hour days. Ability to support on-call and increased work hours as needed

Pay rate shall be discussed during the interview process. Selected candidate will be eligible for contract specific benefits which include medical, dental, 401k, paid holiday, and vacation time (PTO).
