Landscape Technician

About the role:

Maintain designated grounds and outdoor areas on site using hand tools, trimmers, edgers, weed-eaters, electric tools, gas powered tools, and equipment. You will mow areas using zero turn mowers and riding lawn mowers, operating leaf blowers, applying pesticides and fertilizers, re-seeding, de-icing roads, walkways, and entrances to buildings, clearing damaged trees.

You will report on site at Catawba nuclear site.

You will report to the site coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

• Capable lifting 50 lbs. (heavy lifting required from time to time.)
• Must have a valid State issued Driver's License, and Must meet minimum education requirements, High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic Computer Skills
• Training requirements for unescorted access to the nuclear facility to include Radiation Worker Training (RWT).
• Proactively support Westinghouse and Duke Energy programs, policies, procedures, strategic plans, and specific goals.
• Have good oral and written communication skills
• Understand and follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures, and directives associated with working at a nuclear power plant.
• Commitment to personal safety and industrial safety.
• Be assertive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or with minimum oversight.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Will pass a drug test
• Will pass a security background

Work Schedule

You will work a 40-hour work week - Monday-Thursday operating 10-hour days during online periods. You will support on-call as needed and increased work hours including overtime during outage periods.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $19/hour to $20/hour.
