Multi-Skilled Facilities Core Technician

Westinghouse is looking for a Multi-Skilled technician to work at the Catawba Nuclear Power Plant located in York, SC. This is a Core position and candidates must be local.

Multi-Skilled Technician

Technician is trained in two or more craft or technical skill sets.  Position is typically used when the station need calls for a technician for a unique role.  An example is the need for a technician who is asbestos abatement trained and coatings qualified.

Education / Training Requirements

• High School Diploma with some college preferred
• Meet all applicable requirements to maintain unescorted access
• Pass initial and annual Radiation Worker Training

Minimum Skill Requirements and Accountabilities

• Follow safe work practices
• Effectively communicate and interact with co-workers, Supervisors, and Purchaser's staff to ensure safe and quality job completion for all assignments
• Use administrative documents, procedures, data sheets/forms properly. 
• Read and interpret procedures and drawings
• Climb and work from ladders and scaffolding. (If required)
• Practice Foreign Material Exclusion and Housekeeping per station directives
• Use applicable measuring devices, hand and power tools
• Pass a respirator physical and fit test (If required)
• Wear required personal protective equipment
• Lift a minimum of 50lbs overhead (If required)
• Perform work in a professional (neat and orderly) fashion
