We are looking for a Welder to work at our client's site located in North Carolina for an outage contract position.  As a Welder, you are responsible for welding activities within the power plant. You have the ability to stand for long periods, withstand warm environment at times, can safely climb ladders and stairways, ascend/descend scaffolding, and enter tight/congested areas.  You have experience working in the Nuclear Power industry and have or can obtain unescorted access to nuclear power plants.  You enjoy the fast-paced work demands need to work various shifts throughout plant outages. 

 

Job Details/Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Perform all position electric arc, inert gas, oxyacetylene structural, and pipe welding using SMAW / GTAW weld processes.
    • WPS 1.2TS Carbon Steel using GTAW ER70S-2 or SMAW E7018 (P1 to P1)
    • WPS 8.1TS Stainless Steel using GTAW ER309/309L or SMAW E309/E309L (P8-P8)
    • WPS 1-8.1TS Carbon Steel to Stainless Steel using GTAW ER309/ER316 or SMAW E309/E316 (P1-P8)
    • Read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, weld block diagrams, flow-prints, etc.
    • Perform highly complex layout work of piping runs.  Layout three dimensional equipment components.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or educational equivalent.
  • Be able to pass criminal background, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana as well as CBD oil), and employment testing.
  • Be able to be qualified to work within the radiological controlled area
  • Must pass client's welding test 2" Extra Heavy Combination Tig/Stick 6G position.
