About the role:

Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada. You will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse's mission to provide clean energy solutions.

 

Specifically, as an Engineering Intern, you will work on a variety of assignments related to business growth while gaining exposure to the technical and management elements under the guidance of senior managers. Starting May 2027 for a duration of 8 months.

 

You will report to the Director, CANDU Engineering & Tooling and be located at Burlington, Ontario, facility. This is a hybrid role. We expect employees working in hybrid roles to work onsite at our Burlington office 2 days per week.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help develop technical aspects of offers, across different product portfolios, including custom outage-based tooling systems and controls, coordinating input from Product Management, Project Delivery Teams
  • Develop conceptual solutions with Engineering teams to include in the proposal.
  • Support the Customer Solutions Team monthly demand reports based on project pipeline with GOS to ensure resource allocation
  • Collaborate with Project Management teams to understand status of project(s) to inform future customer interactions
  • Work with supporting groups such as Global Supply Chain Solutions and QA to gather cost estimates for materials and other technical information to inform bids

 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in 2nd year or graduate of a Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Nuclear engineering programme at a university with a minimum GPA of 75%
  • We value a background with practical skills developed through jobs, school teams or personal interest.
  • We value understanding of CANDU nuclear technology.

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly pay range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $26.65 per hour.
