About the role:

As a Supervisor, Development and Operations, you will lead the day-to-day activities of Westinghouse's manufacturing laboratory and shop facilities while supporting the successful delivery of engineering, fabrication, assembly, and testing projects. This role combines hands-on shop leadership with supervision of technical designers, drafting personnel, and manufacturing staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of work scopes.

You will report to the Engineering Manager, Inspection Tooling Engineering and be located at Burlington, Ontario, Canada. This is an onsite position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations across manufacturing laboratory and shop facilities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and nuclear requirements.
  • Manage manufacturing personnel, technical designers, and drafing resources, including work planning, scheduling, resource allocation, coaching, and performance management.
  • Coordinate fabrication, assembly, testing, and project execution activities to support cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and release of technical drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation while maintaining configuration control and applicable standards compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, develop shop procedures and work instructions, and support the implementation of innovative manufacturing methods and technologies.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent education.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or industrial operations, including experience leading multidisciplinary work scopes.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing, fabrication, laboratory, or industrial environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing techniques, welding procedures, fabrication practices, and associated inspection methods.
  • Experience working with 3D CAD systems such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Obtain and maintain the security clearance required to access Canadian nuclear facilities.

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $93,200 to $116,500 per year.
