Senior Operational Buyer

About the role:

As a Senior Operational Buyer, you will lead sourcing activities and manage the procurement lifecycle for materials, equipment, and services within the global supply chain. This role includes negotiating contracts, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring suppliers meet cost, quality, and delivery expectations. You will analyse supplier proposals, assess risks, and lead cost optimisation initiatives, while helping strengthen supplier relationships and supporting the execution of global supply chain strategies.

You will report to the Supply Chain Operations Team Lead and be located at Burlington, Ontario, Canada. You will follow a hybrid work schedule. You are expected to work onsite at our Peterborough office 2 days per week and work from home 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead sourcing activities, including negotiation and issuance of purchase orders and contracts
• Manage RFQs/RFPs, supplier evaluation, and risk analysis
• Promote cost optimisation while ensuring compliance with procurement standards
• Manage supplier performance, resolve issues, and support contract changes
• Maintain accurate procurement data and documentation

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field or equivalent
• Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
• Experience with RFQ/RFP processes and contract analysis

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $65,200 to $81,500 per year.
