eVinci Project Director, Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC)  –  This position has a remote working arrangement and is based in Canada.

  • Periodic business travel to Saskatchewan will be required.
  • Working hours are expected to be part-time, casual employment of approximately 20 hours per week.

 

About the Opportunity

 

Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada.  The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions.

 

In this role, you will lead the customer funded project for Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC).  Work with our sales and marketing team leading to a preliminary contract with our first Canadian customer for a full scale eVinci demonstration in Saskatchewan.  Working closely with applicable eVinci engineering and project leadership to manage engagements with key stakeholders across Federal Government, Provincial Government, third party subsidiaries, statutory and non-statutory bodies, communities and other parties to achieve program goals of eVinci to support technology advancement and support design and licensing decisions in Canada.  Serve as the primary liaison to the customer at SRC.

 

It is a bona fide job requirement to be eligible and authorized to travel to the U.S. on Westinghouse business, and such travel is subject to the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as compliance with all applicable U.S. export laws and regulations.

 

 

What will you do?

Your day to day: 

  • Project Director – directly reporting to the Program Senior Director for eVinci technologies in Canada and supporting the the President of eVinci Technologies
    • Oversee execution of Phase 1 development of the contract scope with Engineering, Project Controls, Sales and Marketing.
    • PM project delivery and coordinate with team members across both US and Canada where relevant.
    • Oversee management of selected Subcontractor’s contracts to include quality, timeliness and budget on deliverables
    • Communicating program updates with internal leadership for the eVinci Program, the Sales team leadership and stakeholder such as CNSC.
    • Manage the interface between engineering design, testing and customer objectives.
  • Management- Internal and external Stakeholders
    • Establish relationships with key stakeholders that meets each party’s needs and agreed outcomes.
    • Build capacity and knowledge of key stakeholders to ensure effective communication outcomes by clearly defining lines of communication. Identify stakeholder issues, interests, and concerns to better define program alignment and provide direct technical input/feedback to the eVinci design team.
    • Maintain stakeholder relationships once established through regular communication activities.
    • Work with Westinghouse seconded staff n Canada.
    • Provide leadership perspective on options and recommendations.
  • Management- liaise with the eVinci SIF Program Manager in coordinating monthly financials and updating forecasts and schedules.

 

What will you bring?

Who you are: 

  • B. Sc. degree in Engineering or other technical-related area.  Advanced degrees desirable.
  • Typically, 20+ years professional experience in Program and Contract management.  
  • PMI Program Manager program certification desirable

 

  • Strong Program and Contract management skills
  • Track record delivering quality on time and within predictable cost controls
  • Strong analytical thinking capability and business development acumen.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear industry and related associations. 
  • Experience in Canadian industrial environment related programs
  • Organizational experience with planning, budgeting, operations and objectives.
  • Knowledge of team building, planning techniques, business management principles and practices.
  • Experience in developing and successfully implementing stakeholder engagement plans in both private and public sectors.
  • Good interpersonal and networking skills, articulate spokesperson.
